In a groundbreaking moment for the South East region of Nigeria, the commissioning ceremony of the $800 million Geometric Power Plant in Aba, Abia State, has garnered commendation from various quarters, particularly the Igbo-Biafra Nationalists Movement (IBN) and the Indigenous People of Igbo Nation for Self-determination (IPINS). The event was graced by distinguished personalities, including former Governor of Anambra state and former Presidential candidate of the Labor Party, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, highlighting the significance of the achievement.

The Geometric Power Plant, boasting a capacity of 181 megawatts, is situated in the Osisioma Industrial Layout and holds immense promise for the region’s economic development. Notably, Abia State Governor, His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti, has received widespread commendation for his instrumental role in the successful completion of this pivotal project.

The ceremony, attended by government officials, dignitaries, and industry leaders, marked a historic milestone in the quest for consistent electricity supply in the South East. The Geometric Power Plant’s potential to address long-standing power challenges in the region has been acknowledged by various groups, including the IBN and IPINS.
