Insecurity in S’east forced me to relocate my business to Lagos — Cubana Chief Priest

Celebrity barman, Mr Pascal Okechukwu, aka Cubana Chief Priest, has relocated his business to Lagos State from the southeast part of Nigeria due to rising insecurity concerns in the region.

In a recent interview with BBC Igbo, Cubana Chief Priest disclosed that he was forced to flee the region because the fear of abduction and killing had driven away customers from the East, who previously visited home regularly.

He also noted that the widespread hunger and envy among South Easterners had led to community members providing information to criminals, targeting the wealthy, and driving them away.

Okechukwu stressed that this was why he moved to Lagos to conduct his business, citing the need for a safe and secure environment.

He said, “There is widespread hunger in the South-East. It is our own community members who provide criminals with information.

“Our people began targeting the wealthy, so the wealthy stopped returning home during festivities. That’s why I moved to Lagos to conduct my business.”
